Ekso Bionics Robotics Joins Wandercraft in Medical Exoskeleton Deal

Clinics get a clear guide to the four supported exoskeletons, coverage limits, and purchase checks.

Wandercraft acquired Ekso Bionics, Inc. on Oct. 1, 2026 from a subsidiary of ChronoScale Holdings Corporation.

The deal joins two robotic-mobility pioneers under one medical exoskeleton company. A medical exoskeleton is a powered wearable frame that helps a person stand and walk during rehabilitation. Wandercraft described the combined business as the world's leading medical exoskeleton company, citing technology, clinical experience and global reach acquisition announcement.

What changed on Oct. 1?

Both boards approved the acquisition unanimously. It was signed and closed simultaneously on Oct.

1, 2026, with financial terms not disclosed, according to Vector Wire deal report. That structure leaves no second closing step for customers to track. Purchasing and service decisions now point to one combined owner.

Why does the pairing matter?

Wandercraft brought advanced robotics and physical-AI expertise plus EMEA leadership. Ekso added strong U.S.

presence, clinical experience and commercial reach, according to Wandercraft. Together, Atalante X and EksoNR support standing and walking rehabilitation at more than 700 rehabilitation centers worldwide, according to Wandercraft. That installed base gives the new owner immediate contact with established rehab workflows.

Which systems stay supported?

Wandercraft said it will continue supporting four exoskeletons, plus the customers and clinicians using them, according to ENGtechnica product support report. Existing users do not face an announced discontinuation.

Atalante X and EksoNR hold U.S. FDA clearances and CE marking, according to ENGtechnica. Coverage includes stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury.

What limits should buyers weigh?

Ekso collected its first Medicare payment in Aug. 2024 at the $91,032 level for code K1007, according to Base Reality Group Medicare payment analysis.

It still posted losses and went through reorganization, showing payment coverage alone did not ensure sales. Ask how service, parts and clinician training transfer under the new owner. Get response times, warranty terms and upgrade plans in writing before budgeting.
